Biography

Jeff Kimber was a sports journalist who worked for the Sunday Times and the Guardian before eventually hanging up his typewriter to concentrate on poker. Jeff first came to our attention in 2006 when he finished ninth in the WPT Shooting Stars tournament in San Jose for $100k. A big player on Ladbrokes in the early days, he was sponsored by the British bookmaker in 2007 and 2008, repaying their faith by winning the World Heads-Up Championship 2007 in Barcelona.

The following year he won the second leg of the inaugural GUKPT and finished second in the Grand Final at the end of the year. So began an association with the GUKPT which saw Jeff make a record seven GUKPT Main Event final tables as of his second-place finish in Nottingham in 2013. He is currently sponsored by Grosvenor Poker and writes a strategy column for Bluff Europe. As of 2013 he has over $1.4m in lifetime live tournament winnings.
