Around 2006 rumours began to circulate of an internet phenomenon known as Annette_15. “She’s this young girl from Norway,” said the rumours, “and she’s awesome.” But we had to wait until September 2007, and one day before Annette Obrestad’s 19th birthday, for the phenomenon to reveal herself to the world, when she won the inaugural WSOPE for £1m. Annette_15 had stepped out of the shadows, becoming the first woman to win a WSOP Main Event, as well as the youngest ever bracelet winner, in the process.
Just two months later, Annette came close to winning another major, coming second in the EPT Dublin for €297,800. As of January 2013 she has amassed $3.7m in tournament winnings.
Annette famously a $4, 180-person SnG without looking at her cards. She is a LockPoker Elite Pro.
