V. Selbst (PokerStars)
While Vanessa Selbst was busy becoming the highest-earning female poker player of all-time, she somehow had time to graduate from the prestigious Yale Law School with the intention of becoming a Civil Rights lawyer. She first made her mark on the poker circuit back in 2006, when she made the final table of the WSOP $2k NLH event. In 2007 she picked up her first bracelet, in the $1.5k PLO event, and her second five years later in the 10-Game Mix 6-Handed event. As of January 2013 she has 15 cashes in WSOP events.
In 2010, she won the Mohegan Sun leg of the PokerStars North American Poker Tour, earning $750,000. Amazingly, she came the following year and won it again. In 2013, she won the PCA High Roller title for £1.4m.
