Cyprus bans online poker
The House of Representatives in Cyprus has passed controversial legislation that prohibits exchange betting and online casino games including online poker. Sports betting has been regulated with authorities levying a ten percent revenue tax on all operators.
Full Tilt CEO Ray Bitar bailed
Full Tilt Poker CEO Ray Bitar has been freed on bail. The 40-year-old from California agreed to post $2 million in property to ensure he returns to U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
Tuesday Night Classic returns to Western Club
One of the most popular events on the live circuit makes a very welcome return to the Western Club tonight. The Tuesday Night Classic last ran in 2009 but organisers have resurrected the £100 event starting from tonight.

It's Albright on the night at GUKPT Plymouth
Rod Albright has won the latest leg of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT). The financial planner pocketed £11,900, the biggest cash score of his poker career, as well as a seat in the Champion of Champions event after a marathon session in Plymouth over the weekend.
Poker playing US judge censured
Of all the places a US judge should avoid being seen, an illegal poker game is probably pretty high up the list. That elementary error was made by US District Judge Paul Hensley who has been censured by the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct.
Maksims Uskovs wins Fox Poker Club Main Event
The final Monthly Main Event in its current incarnation took place at the Fox Poker Club over the weekend with 173 runners on hand for the last £300 buy-in tournament.

We were sceptical when we heard about Barry Denson's attempt on Phil Laak’s poker endurance record but the former TA soldier has proved us wrong and smashed the Unabomber’s record.
Brammer out fifth in WSOP $10k six max
Chris Brammer has fallen just short in his attempt to win his maiden WSOP bracelet. The Briton busted out in fifth place in the $10k Six Max event and can count himself unlucky after running into a pretty cold deck.
