BBC news run feature on British pro poker players
Last week, one of the top features on BBC.co.uk/news was a poker piece, and fortunately it involved no cheating scandals or Ponzi schemes. The feature focused on the recent successes of British poker players like Triple Crown winner Jake Cody, November Niner Sam Holden and EPT Champion Liv Boeree.

London Calling Main Event starts today
The London Calling festival at the rather excellent Fox Poker Club comes to a conclusion this weekend in the form of the the two-day £500+£40 Main Event.
Baumstein maintains WPT Amneville lead
Scott Baumstein finished day 3 at WPT Amneville just where he started it, at the top of the chip counts. The American, who made the WSOP $5k Shootout final table earlier this year, closed the day with a stack of 1,820,000 putting him well ahead of Anders Bisgaard who is the only other chip millionaire on 1,167,000.

215 players started day 2 WPT Amneville and by the close of play just 76 were remaining with Scott Baumstein at the top of the chip counts with a chunky stack of 481,300. Joining the Swiss player near the top of the leader board were Marvin Rettenmaier on 454,800 and Joseph Cheong 380,100.

Tapie/Full Tilt agreement “within 15 days”
Laurent Tapie has confirmed in an interview with iGaming France that “a tentative agreement” between the US Department of Justice and Groupe Bernard Tapie has been reached. Furthermore, a “final agreement” should be signed within the next 15 days.
Arnaud Mattern, Joseph Cheong chip up WPT Amneville Day 1b
Day 1b of the World Poker Tour’s stop in Amneville, France, saw 203 players boost the field to a total of 379, with 105 of them joining the 113 Day 1a survivors. Nicolas Babel has been overtaken in the chip count by Jean-Francois Rigollet, who turned his starting stack of 30k into 164,700.
