Baumstein maintains WPT Amneville lead

Saturday, 5 November 2011

Scott Baumstein finished day 3 at WPT Amneville just where he started it, at the top of the chip counts. The American, who made the WSOP $5k Shootout final table earlier this year, closed the day with a stack of 1,820,000 putting him well ahead of Anders Bisgaard who is the only other chip millionaire on 1,167,000.

A total of 19 players are still standing including Joseph Cheong 937,000, Arnaud Mattern 596,000 and last Brit standing Sandiep Khosa on 227,000. All 19 are in the money after a very strange bubble when play almost ground to a halt. The short stacked Jean Bernard Bros, hoping to make a min cash, decided that he wouldn't play a single hand. Other players eventually refused to play until Bros was eliminated which he duly was in the bubble position of 37th.

The action resumes at 12pm today with the blinds at 3,000/6,000 with an ante of 1,000, with play set to continue until a final table of eight is reached.
