BLOG – Why World Series of Poker bracelets still matter
We all know that there is a vast difference between the ‘second generation’ of poker players who got into the game – primarily online – post-boom since Chris Moneymaker’s win in 2003 and those who have played for years before that. This applies to not only the style of play that the different groups employ at the tables but also their attitudes and reverence for certain aspects of the game.

BLOG – In it for the long haul at the WSOPE final table
Hello again from the casino at The Empire in Leicester Square where currently nine players are duking it out across the felt in a bid to join Annette Obrestad, John Juanda and Barry Shulman as World Series of Poker Europe champion. Roland de Wolfe took an early hit when he doubled Nicolas Levi but really no one is in desperation mode with blinds still relatively low compared to the 10,000,000 plus chips in play.
World Series of Poker Europe final table begins today
It’s been a long haul at the WSOPE for journalists, TV crews, tournament directors and players alike. Today is the final day of the event but with a 60BB average stack and hundreds of thousands of pounds (ie: millions of dollars) on the line we don’t expect it to end any time soon. Jack Effel just announced a twenty hour stint is – forgive the pun – on the cards.
EPT London side events start today
As the WSOPE action at Empire draws to a close, attention shifts across London to the Hilton Metropole for the PokerStars EPT London festival which starts today.

BLOG – The World Series of Poker Europe and ‘macro game’
I’m shattered. Since Thursday my schedule has been: up at 8am; write news and online news for Bluff Europe; jump on the train for an hour to arrive at The Empire for noon; report on six hours of poker; return home for 1am or later; repeat. You’re welcome.
UKIPT Champion of Champions announced
The PokerStars UKIPT has been a very welcome addition to the UK poker circuit and will sign off this season with a special event next week.
