World Series of Poker Europe – JP Kelly in title defence
In total, 582 players ponied up £1,075 to compete in the cheapest event of the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe; 80 returned for Day 2 where the survivors played through the six-table money bubble and down to the final nine. Despite a wealth of poker talent busting throughout the Day 1s, the eyes of the poker world are on one British pro.

Of course we’re excited by the £10,300 High Roller heads-up event that begins at The Empire Casino for Event 4 of the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe today but come on – the Main Event kicks off on Thursday and that’s really the one that everyone is waiting for.
Dusk Till Dawn attempts to break UK poker attendance record
When JP Kelly won the £1,000 event at last year’s WSOPE he took down the largest field in tournament poker history in the UK; the record lasted for all of a week before 730 players competed in the 2009 EPT London which set the benchmark for tournament attendance.
WPT Borgata Poker Open breaks attendance record
The Borgata Poker Open is one of the flagship events of the World Poker Tour and this year proved its merit by breaking the attendance record for a WPT event. Last year, Oliver Busquet won $926,000 for beating a field of 1,018; this year the winner will take home $733,802 for beating a field of 1,042 entrants.
World Heads Up Poker Championship returns this November
Some of the best heads up players in the world will be heading to The Vic in November for the latest World Heads Up Poker Championship, which this year is being run in association with GUKPT.

Despite the wealth of poker talent competing in Day 1c of Event 3 at the 2010 WSOPE – Phil Laak, Michael Mizrachi, Neil Channing, Jeff Madsen – few notable pros survived with the final 25 to join the total of 80 returning for Day 2 today.

The British Poker Awards went down before the WSOPE with a plethora of poker pros provided prizes per poker game. I love that alliteration. Anyway, I have absolutely no problem with the following awards and results – I probably would have picked 85% of them myself:
