Isildur1 loses over $300k to Torbergsen and Jedlicka at PLO
The last time we reported on Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, he had just had a fantastic couple of sessions; he destroyed Ilari “Ilari_FIN” Sahamies to the tune of nearly $800k playing high stakes PLO and over the weekend had won more than $1.4m.

Lecture marquee speakers at Poker in the Park
Despite the massive amounts of fun on offer at Poker in the Park this weekend, we’re not about all play and no work; we want to make sure that coming to Hanover Square on Friday and Saturday improves your poker game and to do that we’ve got a star-studded line-up of lecturers chatting all things poker.
Eugene Katchalov hunts Triple Crown at EPT Barcelona final.
The record-breaking field at EPT Barcelona is down to just eight players at the final table with Spaniard Tomeu Gomila leading the field by some margin, having bagged up almost 7m of the 24.33m in play. On the opposite end of the spectrum is Eugene Katchalov; the PokerStars Pro is chasing the final third of the WSOP-WPT-EPT Triple Crown but must overcome a shortstack to do it.

We’ve got a whole lot of fun lined up for this weekend at Poker in the Park, most of all on the PokerStars Festival “Main” Stage which will feature music, chess, poker, celebrity poker, card tricks and the final table of a record-breaking Mahjong tournament.

At the same time that over 1,700 players were breaking records in Coventry at the GUKPT Goliath event, the Dusk Till Dawn club just up the road hosted over 400 players in the APAT World Championships of Amateur Poker.

Poker in the Park V begins…
The wait is over, and we can hardly contain ourselves. We’ve hoisted up the last marquee, banged in the final peg and all that’s left is to wait for Friday, 3pm, when Poker in the Park V unfurls its mighty tentacles across London’s Hanover Square.

Actress and comedian Lucy Porter will be the host of the 2011 British Poker Awards which takes place at Poker in the Park at 3pm on Saturday 3rd September (that's this Saturday folks!).
New statement from Full Tilt Poker
Full Tilt Poker has given the clearest indication to date as to why it hasn't been able to pay back its players. In a statement released to Forbes magazine overnight, Full Tilt admitted that it wasn't prepared for “far-reaching government enforcement activities” while also revealing details of a “significant theft” from a payment processor.
