Jamie Kaplan leads 51 survivors of Epic Poker League Day 1
The second Epic Poker League $20,000 Main Event kicked off yesterday with a reduced field, a tweaked structure, eight instead of six to a table but still a collection of the best players in the world. The PokerStars WCOOP and European events in September doubtless hit the attendance but regardless, 97 players signed up to create a prize pool of almost $2m.
Guillaume Darcourt leads WPT Grand Prix de Paris Day 1b
The WPT Grand Prix de Paris saw 172 players take part on Day 1b, giving us a total field of 312 players and beating last year’s field and prize pool. In WCOOP 2009, a former tennis pro aged 23 named Joel Adam Gordon picked up a WCOOP bracelet in NL 2-7 Single Draw under the screen name of 2FLY2TILT. The name proves true still, Gordon was too fly to tilt on his way to a second WCOOP bracelet last night in the Triple Stud event.

ANZPT runner-up gives all his prize money to his wife

Ben Grundy to take on Isildur1 in SuperStar Showdown?
PLO player extraordinaire Ben Grundy has written a new blog in which he posts another sick-as-hell graph, reveals that he has moved some of his bankroll to PokerStars to compete in the nosebleed Omaha action there and that he plans to take on Viktor “Isildur1” Blom in the SuperStar Showdown.
WPT Grand Prix de Paris Day 1a concludes; 70 survive
The World Poker Tour arrived in Europe yesterday for the Grand Prix de Paris at the Aviation Club de Paris with 140 players entering Day 1a and half that number surviving to make it back tomorrow for Day 2. Leading the way is Mikko Sundell, who turned his 30,000 into an impressive 203,800 by the end of play.
