Vadim Kursevich wins latest Russian Poker Tour event
Vadim Kursevich has won the latest stop on the PokerStars sponsored Russian Poker Tour. With poker still banned in Russia, the event was held in Kiev, Ukraine and attracted a top quality field including Alex Kravchenko, Ivan Demidov, Alexander Dovzhenko, WCOOP bracelet winner Vadim Markushevsky, and ET Kyiv champion Maxim Lykov.
PokerStars EPT Prague under way
The last EPT stop of the year before the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in January 2010 kicked off today as the €5,000 EPT Prague Main Event began in the Hilton Hotel. The field is strong so far with rumours abound that the 600 player cap might be reached early.

Former professional footballer Tony Cascarino has won the GUKPT Grand Final main event. The former Ireland striker outlasted a field of 183-runners at The Vic to win the showpiece tour event and with it the first prize of £168,800.

Cannock based poker pro Jonny ‘Texas’ Hewston has narrowly avoided a spell at Her Majesty’s pleasure due to the timely intervention of his wife. The former World Open runner up was facing the prospect of a three-month spell behind bars due unpaid motoring fines totalling £2,772. He left Cannock Magistrates court a free man though after his wife produced the cash on the spot to pay the fine.

After following this up with a $120,000 victory in the PKR Heads-Up Grand Slam against Juha Helppi, he has signed with PKR.

The body of missing poker player John Regan has been found in a London canal. The 30-year-old sports analyst was last seen on Thursday night, leaving a pub in Camden.
