Full Tilt Poker joins the fight for changing poker legislation
With the legal climate of poker in constant turbulence across the Atlantic, Full Tilt Poker have decided to step up and sort stuff out. Full Tilt, run and bolstered by a team of sponsored poker professionals including Phil Ivey and Gus Hansen, sent a mass e-mail to all poker players on the site inviting them to ‘Stand Up for Poker’.
Devilfish book out in September
Many poker players have led colourful lives away from the felt but few have managed quite such a technicolor existence as Dave Ulliott. Readers will now be able to get the full life and times of The Devilfish from his new autobiography which will hit bookshops on 9th September.
Arrests made after Birmingham casino robbery
A group of seven people, six men and a woman, are being question by police in connection with an armed raid at a casino in Birmingham last week.

WSOP Main Event – November Nine set
A marathon 18-hour session has finally come to a conclusion and the Main Event final table is set. As the clock approached 6am Brandon Steven was eliminated in tenth place leaving nine players battling for the $8.94m first prize when the Main Event reconvenes in November.

WSOP Main Event Day 7 complete – Joseph Cheong leads
78 players returned to the Rio yesterday, full of dreams of a November return and a massive payday. 51 of those dreamers will have to wait enough year for Main Event glory though as the field was whittled down to just 27 in a surprisingly frenetic day.
British Poker Awards set for September
TV stars have the Baftas, pop singers The Brits and theatre actors the Oliviers. Now poker will be honouring the best and the brightest in the game at The British Poker Awards.

World Series of Poker Main Event Day 6: Theo Jorgensen leads
The sixth day (well, technically tenth if you count the multiple opening flights) of the World Series of Poker Main Event was a pretty dramatic one. Yesterday the field of 205 remaining players has been narrowed down to just 78, with Theo Jorgensen and Michael Mizrachi leading the remaining 78 players all guaranteed at least $94,942.

It says a lot about Michael Mizrachi that, before this World Series of Poker, the word ‘Mizrachi’ – unlike the words Hellmuth, Brunson or Negreanu – produced a red squiggly line beneath it. Sure, ‘The Grinder’ was a known force on the professional poker circuit before the 41st WSOP: he was a known cash game grinder, obviously; he had a couple of WSOP final tables, a World Poker Tour win (2005 LA Poker Classic, $1.86m) and total tournament earnings of over $6m.
