Full Tilt Poker joins the fight for changing poker legislation

Monday, 19 July 2010

With the legal climate of poker in constant turbulence across the Atlantic, Full Tilt Poker have decided to step up and sort stuff out. Full Tilt, run and bolstered by a team of sponsored poker professionals including Phil Ivey and Gus Hansen, sent a mass e-mail to all poker players on the site inviting them to ‘Stand Up for Poker’.

A new area on the Full Tilt Poker website invites players to contact their specific government representatives via phone, e-mail or Twitter in order to get the message through that poker is a game of skill and should not be banned online in the US under the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

Full Tilt Poker also want players to support Barney Frank’s H.R. 2267 bill that was introduced in 2009. It aims to legalise and regulate online gambling including poker. Two other bills would remove UIGEA legislation and enforce taxes on US-based poker sites.
