The record-breaking 615-strong field at the UKIPT’s latest stop in Manchester is down to just eight players with online qualifier Mateusz Warowiec leading the field with two million chips bagged up for the final. He leads PokerStars Pro JP Kelly, who is second place on 1.71m going into today’s final.

PKR.com has revealed details of its new software upgrade. Of most interest in the updated poker client is the boost in speed to the number of hands dealt per hour. Pauses between hands have been shortened and animations will now run simultaneously with the shuffling of cards.

The NAPT L.A. became The Big Event at The Bike less than a week before it kicked off after a barney with California gaming regulators who disapproved of PokerStars sponsorship. Thus, this event was not decked out in red spades and black posters – until we got to the final.
