Jason Mercier wins EPT Champion of Champions

Jason Mercier beat a who's who of the PokerStars European Poker Tour talent last night to claim the inaugural EPT Champion of Champions event. After navigating his way through a field that included 50 former EPT winners, the 24-year-old beat fellow American Galen Hall heads up to pocket €50,000 worth of tournament buy ins for season 8 of the EPT.

Ivan Freitez has become the first champion of the European Poker Tour Grand Final in Madrid, taking home €1,500,000 after becoming the last man standing from a field of 686. Though everyone at the final eight got a six-figure payout, Freitez was the one to take home the millions and the EPT trophy.
