The Federated Sports and Gaming Commission [Editorial]
I will admit that when I first heard about the new poker league set up by Annie Duke and former WSOP commissioner Jeffrey Pollack, I was sceptical. This was because of several reasons – firstly, this kind of thing had been tried before (Mike Sexton’s Professional Poker Tour) and didn’t work out too well. Secondly, we were assured that the league would contain “the best poker players in the world; the players that the viewing public want to watch.”
Sam MacDonald leads UKIPT Cork
The opening flight of the latest PokerStars UKIPT event in Cork is in the book with online qualifier Sam MacDonald at the head of the chip counts. There was a sense of deja vu seeing MacDonald at the top of the leader board as the 22-year-old was in exactly the same position at UKIPT Nottingham.
Patrik Antonius wins over $700k at the high stakes PLO tables
Well, we haven’t had a match at the dizzying stakes of $500/$1,000 for a good long while. Patrik Antonius solved that one for us on Wednesday, taking on Rui Cao at the heads-up Omaha tables for 1,404 during which he totally dominated, winning $729,000.

Galen Hall leads WPT Championship final table

Justin Bonomo leads WPT Bellagio Super High Roller
It could be something of a surprise to many that a $100,000 buy-in event, post-Black Friday, attracted a field of 29 players – enough to put four tables in play. Well, it helps when you have it in the same building as Bobby’s Room and literally across the street from the majority of the high stakes community.
Live web stream for WPT Barcelona
The World Poker Tour heads to Barcelona next week and viewers wanting to follow the action as it happens will be able to do so courtesy of a live web stream of the final table complete with hole cards and commentary. A host of top names are expected for the €3,200+€300 event which kicks off on the afternoon of Wednesday 25th May.
UKIPT Cork starts today
The Queen is making an historic visit to Ireland this week but unfortunately for HRH, she's not managed to find room in the schedule for the latest leg of the PokerStars UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) in Cork which starts this afternoon.
Dusk Till Dawn announces new Monte Carlo event
The good people at Dusk Till Dawn have found time away from this week's record breaking Grand Prix event to confirm details of their next £1000+£90 Monte Carlo tournament.

Galen Hall leads WPT Championship final 15
Unfortunately for us Brits Dave Ulliott, Sam Trickett and Roberto Romanello were all eliminated during Day 4 of the World Poker Tour $25,000 Championship event. We are down to just 15 players now and reigning PCA champion Galen Hall is leading the way.
