John Tabatabai must be pretty happy with his latest score, especially since he wasn’t even intending to even play out the tournament in question. His friend asked why he wasn’t playing Event #43 of the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker, a $320 rebuy PLO 6-max event that carried a $350,000 guarantee.
Fred Goldberg makes second WPT final table, Failla falls.
The three biggest names in the final few tables of the WPT Borgata event failed to make the final six, though Fred Goldberg has managed to make his second final table of the WPT following his fourth-place finish at Foxwoods for $230k in 2007.
Cecilia Pescaglini leads final 30 players at WPT Malta
Day 2 of the World Poker Tour event in Malta saw the remaining field of 154 players whittle themselves down to 30, with just three spots left until the money meaning that only ninety per cent of the field will leave the room happy today. Leading the field into Day 3 is Cecilia Pescaglini, who held the chip lead nearly all day.
The Hendon Mob in Genting partnership
After severing ties with Full Tilt Poker earlier this week it hasn't The Hendon Mob long to strike up a new partnership. Will Failla is the man to beat – after winning the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker event in LA just last month, he has now taken a dominating chip lead at the conclusion of Day 3 of the WPT Borgata in Atlantic City. Failla has over 3.255m with 27 players remaining.

Losing player ends up in court after threatening to shoot poker site staff
We've all heard of players doing silly things when they've gone on a losing run. Chucking cups of tea or throwing laptops out of windows maybe but threatening to visit the headquarters of the site in question with a gun and kill the staff? Amazingly, that is what Michael Gallagher is accused of.
