Will Failla leads final 27 players at WPT Borgata

Thursday, 22 September 2011

Will Failla is the man to beat – after winning the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker event in LA just last month, he has now taken a dominating chip lead at the conclusion of Day 3 of the WPT Borgata in Atlantic City. Failla has over 3.255m with 27 players remaining.

His closest competitor is Doug Kim on 2.686m but Failla is the favourite right now to claim that $922,441 prize as well as his second WPT title in as many months. However, there is some stiff competition in the last three tables – Darren Elias has snuck into the top five chip counts, while Matt Glantz and Vanessa Selbst are both still alive with above-average stacks and chasing their first WPT title.

All 27 players are guaranteed at least $18,868 but those who make the final table will pick up $77,569 and the winner will take home not only a WPT bracelet but also close to a million dollars.
