Absolute Poker co-founder pleads guilty
Absolute Poker co-founder Brent Beckley has pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges at a hearing at Manhattan District Court. The 31-year-old admitted knowing that allowing banks to process the proceeds of online poker was illegal. Beckley also admitted a charge of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud.

Colburn Tomlin wins DTD Monte Carlo
Christmas came early for Colburn Tomlin yesterday after he took down the latest Monte Carlo event at Dusk Till Dawn. Tomlin outlasted a field 289-runner field that included the likes of Julian Thew, Willie Tann, Neil Channing and Jeff Kimber to pocket a first prize of £89,213.

Chris Klodnicki wins Epic Poker Mix Max
Chris Klodnicki has won the $20,000 Epic Poker Mix Max event after an, excuse the pun, epic heads up battle. Klodnicki battled his way through the 100 runner field to set up a heads up clash with Andrew 'Luckychewy' Lichtenberger. The unique format of the Mix Max event meant that the pair played a best of three contest, with Klodnicki taking a two to one chip lead into each of the first two matches.
Edoardo Alescio wins WPT Venice for €170,000
WPT Venice attracted a disappointing field after the record-breaking Prague but it was still enough to award €170,000 for first place, a cheque picked up by local player Edoardo Alescio who was the self-confessed underdog of the final.

Brains behind EPT Berlin robbery jailed
The man behind the armed robbery at last year's EPT Berlin Main Event has been jailed. Ibrahim al Moussa was given a sentence of six years and four months for his part in the raid which saw armed robbers make off with approximately €245,000.
