The Isle of Man is home to PokerStars but since the original Poker Million, little live action has taken place on the island. That could be about to change though if proposed amendments to gaming laws go ahead.
Qualify for European Masters of Poker Prague
The organisers of the European Masters of Poker (EMOP) have confirmed that the first stop on the season 4 schedule will be in the Prague. The Czech capital's Card Casino will be the venue for the €1,000+€100 Main Event from 2nd to 5th February 2012.

Philip Porter wins Palm Beach Big Game
Philip Porter has got his 2012 off to a flying start after winning the opening Palm Beach Big Game of 2012. Porter bagged a first prize of £13,525 after outlasting a top class 68-runner field that featured the likes of James Akenhead, Praz Bansi, Sam Trickett, James Dempsey, David Vamplew, Chris Moorman, Hendon Mobsters Ross Boatman and Joe Beevers and newly patchless John Duthie.
Isildur1 ends 2011 on a $500k high
Viktor Blom may have been absent for much of 2011 but that hasn't stopped him booking a profit on the year of $1.5m. Around one third of that was added to his bankroll courtesy of Ilari Sahamies in the last big session of the year.
Duthie departs from PokerStars
The shake up at Team PokerStars Pro continues with the news that John Duthie will not be renewing his contract with the world's leading poker site. The former TV producer confirmed in a post on Two Plus Two that his contract expired on 31st December and that he didn't want to renew it.

PCA Main Event and High Roller to be streamed 'as live'
Streaming of live events was one of the major trends in poker coverage in 2011 and that trend looks to continue in 2012 with PokerStars announcing that it will be live streaming the final tables of two of the biggest events at the forthcoming PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
Arrests made in Duhamel assault case
Police in Canada have arrested four people in connection with the assault and robbery of Jonathan Duhamel. The 2010 World Champion was attacked in his own home on 21 December with the assailants making off with money, a Rolex watch and the WSOP Main Event bracelet.
