WSOPE Event 1: Day 1a Summary
Of the 191 players who signed up for Day 1a of this year's opening event, only 42 made it through the day. The man on the top of the pile is someone you might have heard of though.

The Mouth – He Might Just Be Lucky
Mike Matusow has just bowled into the Empire, asking me of all people whether he's allowed to wear his baseball cap. “One guy over there told me to take it off,” he says, observing the twenty-odd players sat down wearing baseball caps. He wanders off again, having just railed good friend Daniel Negreanu, who has finally got the range of his table.

Brandon Cantu has been a well-known tournament pro for a good couple of years now, and here he is in London doing what he does best - accumulate chips.

The 6,000 starting stacks meant it wouldn't take long before we began to lose some players, and two of the biggest names in the field are out. Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson ended up going out with A-J versus pocket Kings, while Phil Ivey has also hit the rail.
