European Poker Tour season eight begins in Tallinn today
Season eight of the PokerStars European Poker Tour is upon us in Tallinn, Estonia, with the Main Event beginning today. Aside from some differences in the blind structure (earlier antes and a 250/500 level) this is the same EPT we know and love.
Luca Pagano wins Italian Poker Tour San Remo for €210,000
San Remo has birthed many poker talents with big tournament wins – both Liv Boeree and Jason Mercier won their first major live tournaments in the Italian city. Now an old school tournament legend has scored six figures in San Remo and kept the trophy in Italy after Luca Pagano won the IPT San Remo for €210,000.
Leo Boxell wins APPT Melbourne Main Event for AUD $330,000 (£220,000)
We may have an Aussie Dolly on our hands – 69-year-old Leo Boxell has become the latest champion of the Asian Pacific Poker Tour Main Event in Melbourne, defeating a field of 260 runners to take the lion’s share of the AUD $1.2m prize pool.

British Poker Awards 2011 – my picks [Editorial]
It’s that time again when we honour the best and brightest poker talents in our fair isles (or at least those that have been on TV or won major tournaments). Once again I have not been nominated but I think that’s only in the interests of fairness – I’d win every category otherwise and we need to give people like Neil Channing a chance.
Aleksandar the great triumphs in Barcelona
Aleksandar Abutovic has won the latest leg of the Paradise Poker Tour at the Gran Casino in Barcelona. Abutovic pocketed €27,000 for the win, his biggest cash to date, but that didn't make him the biggest winner in the Catalan capital this weekend.
Soren Larsen wins EMOP Dublin
The Clontarf Castle Hotel in Dublin was the venue for the latest leg of the Euro Masters of Poker Tour with Denmark's Soren Larsen seeing off a strong challenge from the home contingent to take the first prize of €71,210.
