PokerStars WCOOP Main Event winner to take $2,000,000
Bluff Europe was listening to the Two Plus Two Pokercast recently and ‘PokerStars Brian’, the Tournament Manager, stated that last year the WCoOP Main Event prize was $2m. We corrected him in our heads – Yevgeniy “jovial gent” Timoshenko in fact won ‘only’ $1.7m.

2010 WCoOP: Triple Stud and Knockout bust guarantees
PokerStars have been once again hosting a great World Championship of Online Poker. Nowhere was this more evident than on the Triple Stud tables of Event #8. The game of Triple Stud (Stud 8, Razz, Stud) or ‘The Back End of HORSE’ was created on PokerStars just a few weeks ago.
Ziigmund strikes back at Brian Hastings at PLO
Finnish online legend Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies has had a horrid start to September. He is down over $500,000 in just over 1,000 hands and it is largely down to the combined efforts of Brian Hastings and Cole South; the former is up over $500,000 in the same time period.

PokerStars WCoOP Day 1: Wahlbeck misses top prize
We recently reported that the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker had had a roaring Day 1 with the guarantees of the three opening events exceeded by more than $1,000,000 between them. At the time we couldn’t tell you a winner because the great, slow structure of the tournaments meant that the final table was still in play at noon the following day.

Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies has a minus $700,000 weekend
Finnish online superstar Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies is one of our favourite players at Bluff Towers for his ridiculous rants, drunken escapades and the fact that he can win and lose millions in a day and still go out to party. That’s our kind of Scandinavian fella.
Brian Hastings gets off to a roaring start in September
Brian “Stinger88” Hastings is considered one of the best NL and PLO players in the world. The 20-year-old has been taking on Ilari Sahamies and Patrik Antonius in an apparent one-man war on Finland that has seen him earn over $785,000 in the past five days.

Patrik Antonius took on Phil Galfond for around an hour at $300/$600 heads-up PLO last night and lost $192,000. Despite this, he was still the biggest winner of the day after a great Limit Hold 'em session that saw him take home over seventy-five big bets... at $2,000/$4,000.

Phil Ivey wins $2,000,000 at Full Tilt Poker in August
It's the end of the month and that means payday. For some of us it's a modest wage but for the regular players online at Full Tilt Poker's nosebleed stakes it means six or seven figures – won or lost.
