Bluff Europe was listening to the Two Plus Two Pokercast recently and ‘PokerStars Brian’, the Tournament Manager, stated that last year the WCoOP Main Event prize was $2m. We corrected him in our heads – Yevgeniy “jovial gent” Timoshenko in fact won ‘only’ $1.7m.

The first of the two-day, big buy-in World Championship of Online Poker events busted the $1,000,000 guarantee wide open as 1,612 players entered the $1,050 NL event. Day 1 ended with the bubble burst and 180 players guaranteed to double their money.
