Just fewer than 400 players survived Days 1A and 1B of the $15,000 Doyle Brunson Classic Championship but now less than 150 remain. Just some of the big names lost in the flurry of chips and cards include Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Paul Wasicka, Phil Laak, Erick Lindgren, Isabelle Mercier, Greg Raymer, Justin Bonomo, Jordan Morgan, Jennifer Harman, Andrew “Good2CU” Robl and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier.

Bill Gazes leads WSOP circuit event
Jason Mercier, Isabelle Mercier; Bill Gazes, Kirsty Gazes; Howard Lederer; Annie Duke. It’s weird how the only actual siblings in poker are the two who don’t share surnames. Family tree musings aside, the news: Bill Gazes (Aussie Millions final tablist Kirsty is actually his ex-wife in case you were wondering) is currently leading the $5,150 WSOP-C Main Event at Harrah’s Atlantic City.

EPT Prague underway; Ludovic Lacay leads
A strong turnout meant that 272 players laid their money down to compete in PokerStars’ EPT Prague tournament. Among the players on Day 1a were EPT London winner Michael Martin; defending EPT Prague champion Arnaud Matten; WSOP Europe bracelet-winner Theo Jorgenson as well as Rolf Slotboom and Gus Hansen.
High Stakes Poker Season 5 Line-Up Announced.
The most eagerly-anticipated televised poker cash game since… well, ever, is upon us. After fears that the programme would not continue (in fact, we reported these rumours on this very site but we had reputable sources, honestly!) the poker community breathed a collective sigh of relief to learn that HSP5 would indeed be gracing our screens.
