As you read this, a collection of multi-millionaires are sat around a poker table winning six-figure pots as Gabe Kaplan commentates solo and Kara Scott plays the part of eye-candy around the table.
Cornel Cimpan wins WPT Foxwoods
While most people had their eyes on The Rio for the WSOP Main Event there was the small matter of $2m to be played for at the final table of the latest WPT event. In the end it was Cornel Cimpan who outran the 352-runner field at Foxwoods to claim the first prize of $910,058.
Asian Pacific Poker Tour Cebu day 1a report
The APPT returned to the tournament poker scene after the hubbub of such trifles as the WSOPE, EPT London and that final table you might have heard about. With 105 players arriving for Day 1a (and Day 1b’s total already surpassing that) it seems like a great event.

The London Poker Circuits has confirmed the details of its forthcoming deep stack event. The two-day Super Stack event will take place at London’s Sportsman Casino on 5th and 6th December 2009.

Full Tilt durrrr Million Dollar Challenge starts in London next week
After much to-ing and fro-ing and a seemingly endless amount of speculation the Durrrr Million Dollar Challenge looks as if it’s finally going to take place. Les Ambassaedeurs Club in London will be the venue for the series with Sammy ‘Any Two’ George, Finland’s Ilari ‘Ziigmund’ Sahamies and Marcello ‘Luckexpress’ Marigliano set to take on Durrr.
Top poker pro makes cameo on Curb Your Enthusiasm
If you’re partial to an evening with misanthrope extraordinaire Larry David on US sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm then you may well recognise a very familiar face in a forthcoming episode.

Huck Seeed has won the latest series of Late Night Poker. The American came from behind to beat Gus Hansen heads up. Meanwhile, Annette Obrestad and Sam Trickett managed a notable 3rd and 4th place respectively.

PartyGaming buys World Poker Tour for $12.3m
The World Poker Tour has been sold to PartyGaming for $12.8m, ahead of Mandalay Gaming’s last-minute offer of almost three times that. The world-famous online gaming company landed the deal with an asset buy.
Kara Scott confirmed as High Stakes Poker hostess
The rumours have been strong – strong enough, in fact, for most people to take them at face value. This wasn’t a mistake, as UK/Canadian poker player and television presenter Kara Scott has been confirmed as replacing AJ Benza as co-host on High Stakes Poker.
