Ivey wins over $600,000 at Full Tilt Poker
It seems a little unbelievable that, when Phil Ivey had secured the chip lead from Bill Chen in the $3,000 HORSE on his way to winning his eighth bracelet, he asked how much first prize was. It was over three hundred thousand dollars, but Ivey yesterday proved why he needs the motivation of a prop bet to compete in tournaments.

The Midlands was the centre of the UK poker scene this weekend. In addition to the Coral Masters event in Nottingham there was a bumper prize pool on offer in the Anniversary Cup at the Circus Casino in Stoke-on-Trent.

Fox Poker Club to host British Poker Awards – voting open now.
The new, exciting and soon-to-be-opened Fox Poker Club in Shaftsbury Avenue will be hosting yet another poker event in September – on the 13th, the day before the World Series of Poker Europe kicks off, the British Poker Awards will honour the best of the UK’s poker talent.

Despite myriad attractions elsewehere a very decent field of 61 player coughed up the £500 buy in for the latest leg of the Coral British Poker Masters in Nottingham over the weekend.

Finally! After coming up to two years of Tom “durrrr” Dwan taking on Patrik Antonius across four $200/$400 Omaha tables (in tiny, tiny sessions) it seems the two have resolved to get the last 20 per cent of hands over with so that Dwan can take on jungleman12.

What with all the talk of jungleman12 taking the durrrr challenge, it had almost been forgotten that Dwan and Patrik Antonius were still competing in their incredibly lengthy 50,000 hands. Rumours that Antonius had bought out of the bet were proved false when Dwan and the Finn took to four challenge tables yesterday and played 280 hands.
