The World Poker Tour heads to north Africa later this month for WPT Marrakech in Morocco with a host of top pros set to take part.

David Johnson wins GUKPT Blackpool
The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour has concluded its latest leg in Blackpool with a 246-strong field for the Main Event rounding off nicely a two-week festival of poker at the G Casino. The prize pool for the final tournament came close to a quarter of a million pounds.

The UIGEA seems to have done not a whole heap of anything to the poker economy with Full Tilt and PokerStars thriving and a record-breaking 2010 WSOP. Don’t get too relaxed about the whole thing though – bad stuff is happening.

Victory Poker CEO and WSOPE final tabler Dan Fleyshman had the poker world a little abuzz on Twitter with the revelation that Phil Hellmuth has not been seen with his Ultimate Bet sponsorship patches for a while. According to the Victory boss, Hellmuth has appeared at charity events and Poker After Dark without the sponsorship logos.
Full Tilt Poker halts service in Washington state
Not too long ago PokerStars e-mailed users stating that in accordance with new legislation they were stopping service in Washington – the first state in the US to make online poker illegal.
