When people set themselves goals as New Year’s Resolutions, they typically follow the same kind of pattern: lose X amount of weight, save up X amount of money for that car/holiday/Boba Fett with trapping net rare collectable figurine, cut back on drinking... oddly enough that last one is often groaned out nationwide in the early hours of January 1st. Can’t think why that is.

LA Poker Classic schedule released; 54 tournaments in six weeks.
Commerce Casino have just released the schedule for the 2011 LA Poker Classic and its looking bigger and better than ever. The series runs from January 19 all the way to the final table of the $10,000 WPT Championship event that concludes on March 3. It will feature 54 separate poker events.

Antonio Esfandiari wins WPT Five Diamond Classic
“Antonio Esfandiari is called ‘The Magician’”, said the WPT announcer prior to the start of one of the most star-studded final tables in recent memory. “He won a tournament eight years ago and then disappeared from the winner’s circle!”
Isildur1 kicks off the action at PokerStars; 12hr PLO session!
Of course we were all very excited to learn that Isildur1 has joined Team PokerStars but we had no idea the action would heat up so readily. The Swedish phenomenon played a monstrous twelve-hour session of $25/$50 PLO on the 250BB tables (six of them) and wound up with around half a million dollars in play.
