Tom Marchese has won the World Poker Tour Championship $100k Super High Roller. The man who plays online as Kingsofcards claimed the biggest victory of his career after beating Andrew Robl heads up, sealing the win with a flopped set of 8s against Robl's ace high.

The field of 27 (who bought in for a total of 34 times) has been whittled down to a six-handed final table at the WPT $100,000 Super High Roller event, with Daniel Perper leading the way just ahead of Andrew Robl. Despite the reduction in field size, players resume six-handed play tomorrow on the money bubble.

Richard Evans has won the latest leg of the PokerStars UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT). The 46-year-old Welshman outran a 597 runner field at the Citywest in Dublin over the weekend to pocket a first prize of €75,000, a fine return on a seat won in a satellite for just €44. His feat was even more impressive considering his stack dropped to below two big blinds at one stage.
