The first bracelet of the World Series of Poker Europe has been won with Imed Ben Mahmoud taking the €2700 six-handed no limt hold’em event. Mahmoud became the first Tunisian to win a World Series event after outlasting a stacked field in Cannes that included the likes of Phil Ivey, Vanessa Selbst, Scotty Nguyen and John Duthie.

Yesterday was one of the biggest days of the year for online poker with a host of big name pros hitting the tables for the climax of PokerStars' World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP). The $5k buy-in Main Event, which had a mammoth guarantee of $5,000,000 and 1,000,000 dollars guaranteed for first place. Also on the docket were the $10k 8-game High Roller and the $215 Sunday Million replacement. As always with Stars, all three events smashed their guarantees.

Danish pro Mickey Petersen has been crowned the 2012 English Poker Open champion after beating an absolutely stacked final table at the Fox Poker Club over the weekend. The Team PokerStars pro pocketed a first prize of £78,660 after beating Poker Hall of Fame nominee Chris Bjorin heads up for the title.

Bianca Rojas-Latraverse yesterday admitted her involvement in the home invasion and robbery of former World Series of Poker Main Event winner Jonathan Duhamel. The 2010 World Champion was severely beaten in the incident late last year which saw robbers make off with over $100,000 in cash and his WSOP bracelet.
