MTT News: Ramdin the Victor at Team PokerStars Christmas Tournament
Christmas interfered with our schedule; we blame the copious amounts of... present wrapping. Never fear, however, since we now bring you updates of the big MTTs over the past two weeks...

MTT news: The acronyms dry up, but the action doesn't.
No WCoOP, no ECoOP, no FTOPS – in fact, no acronyms of any kind this week, just the usual big guarantees. We already reported that Annette Obrestad took down Ultimate Bet’s $100,000 guarantee. Hopefully the new earners will be reassured by the fact that good (and/or rich) players are beginning to trust them again. They’ve got a new series of weekend guarantees totalling nearly $500k – who wants to take bets on how many online pros will win them in the coming months?
Ziigmund and his $1.7m hangover
Last week we reported that Ilari ‘Ziigmund’ Sahamies dropped a staggering $1.7m in one morning’s session. Of course, he had a good excuse – he wasn’t running bad, he wasn’t picking tough games or playing above his bankroll. It was that age-old bloke’s excuse: he “had a hangover and just didn’t care.” Atta boy.

MTT Review: 2Tired4u wins Titan ECOOP $300k Guaranteed
Sunday Million, Shunday Shmillion – turn your eyes to iPoker and the Titan tournament schedule where this incarnation of the European Championship of Online Poker has already crowned 13 winners and awarded over $2.5m to the winning players. Most events saw guarantees obliterated as the number of entrants exceeded expectations substantially.
Cash Review: OMGClayAiken and his $1.5m stack.
Ah, finally. After all those boring $500k pots and the like it’s good to back in familiar territory with $1.2m stacks, $1.5m losses and huge profits. Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan were two of the people to make a tidy score this week as we saw Phil Galfond break an online poker record and Ziigmund cope with immense losses.

MTT Review: Titan Poker ECOOP sees Jeff Kimber land a nice score.
Titan Poker’s European Championship of Online Poker is in full swing and has given away nearly $700,000 in prizes over the last few days. Dumps on your local pub game, doesn’t it?

Cash Review: Au revoir, Monsieur Benyamine?
Some of the biggest news in the online poker world this week has been the retirement of David ‘Degenyamine’ Benyamine as a Full Tilt Poker professional. Having been playing the highest stakes Pot-Limit Omaha and No-Limit Hold ‘em games there for quite some time, his absence will be very noticeable to the regulars there – you don’t get a lot of people bankrolled for $200,000 games.
MTT Review: Two PokerStars Pros battle it out in the Sunday 500.
PokerStars will be thrilled that Full Tilt’s FTOPS tournament series has reached the end of its tenth run, because now we get to talk about their tournaments again.

MTT Review: FTOPS Crowns Julian Verse as Main Event Champ
Well-known online poker room Full Tilt Poker’s FTOPS tournament series is absolutely tearing through its tenth incarnation, with the guarantee of $15,000,000 a vast underestimation – in the end Full Tilt gave away $17,482,300 in prize money over the course of the series.
