Stuck on the short stack, it was time for Hiltunen to make a stand. Looking down at pocket Jacks, he moved in and got a caller from Alekhin two seats to his left. The cards went over and the Finn was disappointed to find himself outpipped by the pocket Queens of the Muscovite.

The flop came three baby cards, offering no help to Hiltunen. The turn was a real spoiler though, as another queen turned up to take away any chance of a potential outdraw.

That's the end of the line for the man from Lahti, who will take home £108,600 for his eighth place finish.
