In a blind versus blind hand, John Juanda has made a crucial double-up through Swedish pro Bengt Sonert.
In the last few hands, Juanda has become a little more lively, which might explain the way this hand played out. Sonert, in the small blind, completed the 24,000 big blind, which Juanda then raised to 75,000. Perhaps feeling that Juanda was stuck in a higher gear, Sonert moved in to be instantly called by Juanda. The hands: Sonert Ah-7h against Juanda's pocket Queens. The flop came 5-2-2, and a 4 on the turn gave the Swede four more outs in the deck. No ace or three on the turn meant JJ received a much needed double up.Approximate chip counts as announced by tournament director Jack Eiffel are as follows:Daniel Negreanu - 279,000Bengt Sonert - 530,000John Juanda - 1,359,000Ivan Demidov - 1,852,000Stanislav Alekhin - 3,291,000
