WSOP Europe Event 2: A Serene Affair

WSOP Europe Event 2: A Serene Affair

The poker room is now down to five tables, and someone must have tipped PH off about our erosion fears - the masseur has been dismissed.

Hellmuth certainly seems to be in good spirits, even treating the rail and tournament director Jack Eiffel to some of his best shadow boxing moves. We can only assume he was telling them how he is ducking and weaving around his table mates, who include Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer and Paul Jackson.

The table in the far corner has John Juanda, Jeff Duvall, Marc Goodwin and Andy Bloch playing what appears to be some kind of chess game, but with chips. It's calm stuff indeed, with Juanda setting the place on fire when letting a grimace out when he managed to get pipped in one round of Razz. We told him to keep it down, and he's behaved well since.

The table proving to be most popular with the rail is home to Antonius, Negreanu, Robert Williamson III, David Williams, Joe Beevers and Chris Bjornin, who just sat down between Antonius and Negreanu. Of course, a man of his experience wouldn't let that bother him, but I would personally brick it if that were me.

The top five remains largely unchanged, although Spaniard Raul Paez has claimed the chip lead. Ivey, Negreanu and Hellmuth remain in hot pursuit. Well as hot as a limit-structured H.O.R.S.E tournament can get.

Phil IveyPhil Ivey - visibily excited.
