Ziigmund has great day, Dwan drops $880,000

Tom “durrrr” Dwan has perhaps the greatest swings of any player to grace the felt, virtual or otherwise. Just this year he’s been widely reported to be down $4m, then up $1.5m, then down $2m and back up $1m again.

Another spike on his cardiac arrest-style graph has been added now after a disastrous day at Full Tilt last week saw him lose close to $900,000 – playing nosebleed Hold ‘em and Omaha, durrrr managed to lose almost a cool million to Di “Urindanger” Dang and Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond while Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies near-single-handedly won over $400,000 from him at PLO.


Despite these figures, durrrr didn’t get involved in any shockingly huge pots. In fact, the only pot of the day that exceeded $200,000 saw Galfond and Patrik Antonius get it in on the turn of a 3-bet pot.


Galfond, holding Q3, had turned two pair on a Q-5-7-3 board and created a near-$300,000 pot with the Finn and Full Tilt pro. Unfortunately for the BlueFirePoker instructor, Antonius had flopped a set with 55. Galfond couldn’t find a queen on the river and lost almost $150,000.
