August was a pretty wild month for cash games online, with the WSOP coming to an end, it seemed that a lot of people were eager to get back on the online grind.
As is often the case when he is online, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, was at the heart of most of the biggest action. Interestingly for the rail, Blom turned his hand to four different games in August, including two new variants we haven't seen him play before. Those two new variants were 2-7 Fixed Limit (FL) Triple Draw and FL Omaha Hi/Lo, and boy did he pick a level at which to learn the games - starting straight away at $1k/2k limits for both and staying at that stake for the duration of August. As always with Isildur1, he isn't afraid to play anyone, and these games were no different, tangling with some of the best in the world in each of the respective games. Arguably not the smartest game selection!Unsurprisingly, he didn't get off to the greatest of starts in the new games, but he went on to hold his own in some of them and ended up with quite a few winning sessions. Overall he turned a slight profit in FLO8, but unfortunately 2-7 was his downfall and he lost around $700k in it for August, mostly at the hands of Alex "BiatchPeople" Luneau.Of course Isildur1 played some of his favourites - No Limit hold'em and PLO - as well, which included a couple more epic heads up matches. He played an incredible 13 hour session against Sauce123 at $200/400 PLO and at one point was down a huge $1.1 million, but managed to claw it back to a $630k loss. He also played a couple of sessions against EireAbu, including one where he beat him for approximately $300k at $50/100, all in approximately an hour and a half. The other epic match was against Alex "Kanu7" Millar at $100/200 NLHE across four tables where Viktor won around $160k after 3-4 hours play. Overall for August Blom lost $88k at PLO over 36k hands and profited $192k from No limit.
