UK online player wins Full Tilt FTOPS XV Main Event

Friday, 26 February 2010

Unfortunately for Full Tilt Poker the $500 main event of their fifteenth FTOPS tournament series was a little overshadowed - despite beating its $2.5m guarantee it couldn't quite match up to the hype surrounding a 36,000-player Sunday Million.

Well, that won't bother Jack "JackQKA" Ellwood, who beat a field of over 5,600 players to take down a first place prize worth $238,000. The UK pro didn't have an easy time of it after his win though.

According to UK PokerNews, a thread was started on the Two Plus Two forums in the light of Ellwood's win. A man claimed he had staked JackQKA for his FTOPS and was owed 50%. Furthermore, he revealed the winner was just 16.
Initially the thread was believed by the majority of forum users before someone pointed out that JackQKA, aka Jack Ellwood, was in fact 24. Ellwood himself verified the story as being false and claimed his identity had been confirmed by Full Tilt Poker already.

That's it for FTOPS XV, then, with a $17m guarantee firmly burst. Well, nevermind, they'll have another one in a week or so...
