Turbo Championship of Online Poker concludes

Tuesday, 31 January 2012

The inaugural PokerStars Turbo Championship of Online Poker is over, with the $770 Main Event wrapping things up with a $2.4 million prize pool. The 3,500 plus field capped off a series that has awarded $18 million in prize money.

Of course the best thing is how quickly it all happened. It took “Betudontbet” just a few hours to take down the Main Event and a $382,856 prize. It took a little over five hours for there to be three players remaining at the felt, discussing a deal.

However, Didak04 and PCA runner-up Chris “ImDaNuts” Oliver, had left it too late with Betudontbet’s chip lead such that he would be awarded more than first place. The hand after the failed deal discussion, Betudontbet’s Q-2 held against J-8 on a nine-high board.

Oliver, who lost a heads-up battle to Galen Hall in the 2011 PCA, started this time with the chip disadvantage – of roughly 8-1. It too one hand, with Oliver calling it off holding K-7 against A-5. King on the flop, ace on the river: done. Less than six hours.

The full TCOOP Main Event final table payouts were as follows:
1. David "Betudontbet" Emmons (Mexico) $382,855.67
2. Chris "ImDaNuts" Oliver (Costa Rica) $285,310.93
