Tom Dwan Dominates In Huge PLO Session

Tom Dwan Dominates In Huge PLO Session

Thursday, 23 July 2009

Earlier this week the action absolutely exploded onto Full Tilt Poker – perhaps the high-stakes pros had gotten bored of Bobby’s Room? At one stage, up to nine $200/$400 Pot-Limit Omaha tables were seen to be running at once.

Naturally Tom Dwan, considered by some to be one of the best PLO players in the world, was right in the thick of it and at some stages was spotted playing on every single one of the nine tables at once.

More amazing than that though, was the competition he had on these tables: Gus Hansen, Di "Urindanger" Dang, Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies, Brian Townsend, Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond, Rafi "howsitfeellike" Amit ja KObyTAPOUT. Later players like David Benyamine, Richard Ashby, Sami "LarsLuzak" Kelopuro, Chau Giang, John Juanda, Alexander "PostflopAction" Kostritsin, Patrik Antonius, Hac "trex313" Dang, Brian "tsarrast" Rast, Cole South, and Ashton "theASHMAN103" Griffin joined the proceedings.

Dwan found himself easily the biggest winner, clearing a net profit of $847,000 in just over 3,000 hands. Despite Gus Hansen winning the biggest pot of the session, a three-way affair with Juanda and Dwan netting him over $450,000; he still only walked away with a profit of $35,000.

Watch Dwan and co battle it out at Full Tilt Poker.
