Shaun Deeb quits poker tournaments

Shaun Deeb, known more commonly by his fans as “Shaun f***ing Deeb”, is an online tournament legend – a pinnacle grinder who aims to, and often does, finish top of every leaderboard on PokerStars. The Team PokerStars Pro is one of the original online legends.

That’s why it was such a shock when he announced he was quitting the tournament game for good, saying that: “I hate them. I’m done with them. I’m gunna take rest of year off, hopefully, and go do something else. Yah, poker was good for a while but **** I hate what I’ve become.”

Deeb hasn’t played an online tournament since his declaration, although he did compete in the PokerStars EPT Vilamoura event, busting out on Day 1. He had already qualified to the tournament.

He is not quitting poker, just tournaments, so presumably he’ll become a fixture at mid/high-stakes cash games. He’ll also probably still play live tournaments and continue to represent PokerStars as one of their pros.
