Richard Ashby has had, like all high-stakes cash game players, ups and downs. He can write off July as a massive “up” however, as he won over $1,000,000 in the past month playing anywhere from $25/$50 NLHE to $300/$600/$100a PLO tables.

Born in London, poker professional Richard Ashby was first introduced to the game by his father. He later started playing in his local casino with a £10 Seven Card Stud tournament, and continued to play while studying at the University of Cambridge.


Ashby is one of the UK’s best-known and most well-respected pros, with successful results live and online - he’s also racked up some impressive live tournament results with eight World Series of Poker cashes, including 9th place in the 2007 WSOP $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo Split 8-or-Better for $14.5K in prize money.
