Patrik Antonius loses over $200,000 at Full Tilt Poker

Friday, 16 July 2010

Patrik Antonius was famously captured declaring his disdain for the WSOP and the bracelets, which he expressed no interest in seeking. We can’t tell you how his decision to focus on high-stakes cash games has gone for him as most of the big games in the past two months have not been online. With thousands of poker players in Vegas right now, hazard a guess as to where the Finnish legend has been playing.

Of course, the online games aren’t totally dead and Antonius proved this yesterday by logging on to Full Tilt Poker and taking on the few comers he could find in the 7-Game. Sadly he ran poorly in the NL and PLO rounds, losing over $220,000 in short order. It took just 705 hands, with NEKOTYAN making the most profit and clocking over $100,000 in the black by the end of his own 1,051.

NEKOTYAN also won the largest pot of the day against Antonius when his top set held up against a myriad of outs for the Finn who had flopped a flush and straight draw. Unfortunately for Antonius he had to watch the $52,000 pot move to the other side of the table.
