PLO session doesn’t go well for Daniel “jungleman12” Cates

Friday, 22 October 2010

Daniel “jungleman12” Cates has stated in numerous interviews that he wishes to improve his PLO game – when you can afford it, how better to do so than to compete against the best players in the world? Cates lost over $200,000 at PLO last night but played almost 2,000 hands against David Benefield and harrington25.

First he took on Benefield at $100/$200 for 1,478 hands. Benefield got the better of him at the end, winning $132,000 in their session. Harrington25 then stepped up to the plate at $200/$400, during the course of which jungleman12 lost another $83,000. Overall, Cates wound up down $216,000 over 1,808 hands.

This year Cates has made $350,000 at PLO overall – not bad until you compare it to his Hold ‘em results; up $3.5m in the past ten months. Should jungleman12 master PLO then the high stakes regulars are in trouble.
