Niki Jedlicka Wins Over $1m at $200/$400 PLO.

Monday, 27 July 2009

The high-stakes action on Full Tilt Poker has absolutely exploded this week, specifically around the $200/$400 PLO tables that have featured Gus Hansen, Patrik Antonius, Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Brian Townsend, Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, Rafi “howisitfeellike” Amit, Jani “KObYTAPOUT” Vilmunen, Richard Ashby, and Niki Jedlicka.

The games have moved to $200/$400 not because of the recession or a lack of interest in poker but simply because there is more action than at $500/$1,000. The tables have a greater population of players and the tables are anted which keeps pots plenty big.

This was proved with aplomb by Niki Jedlicka who finished a 24-hour period spent mostly on the tables up a phenomenal $1.5m – in other words, over 35 100BB buy-ins.

This was helped by some huge pots, including Jedlicka’s personal best: playing $300/$600 PLO with a $100 ante, Jedlicka opened the button for $2,000. Antonius responded from the blinds with a 3-bet to $6,200 which Jedlicka repotted to $18,800. Antonius made the call.

The flop fell Jc-8s-3d and Jedlicka bet $28,000 after Antonius’s check. Antonius called to see the 9s turn which was checked through. On the Ts river, Antonius check-raised Jedlicka’s $62,450 bet to $234,000. Jedlicka called and Antonius showed As-Ah-9h-7d for a jack-high straight but Jedlicka tabled Qs-Tc-6s-4h for a queen-high flush to take the $563,000 pot.

Watch the action or join in if you dare at Full Tilt Poker.
