Jose “papadelpoker” De La Guardia wins PokerStars Sunday Million

After last week’s $2.5m behemoth, the PokerStars Sunday Million returned to more normal – but still humungous – levels with just over 8,000 players taking the prize pool to $1.717m, guaranteeing $252,000 for first place.
The tournament started off with 10,000 stacks and 25/50 blinds. Over nine hours later – during Level 35 (150,000/300,000/30,000) to be precise – the final table was set with the following players:

With four players left, talks of a deal sizzled out rapidly and play got back into red-hot mode with huge stacks flying around the virtual felt. Eventual winner papadelpoker got heads-up with jakobsen01, but the heads-up match was more of a formality than anything as De La Guardia held a chip lead of over 8.5-1.
Six hands after starting play, a 7x-7d-Jd flop saw all the money got in. The flush draw of jakobsen01 (8d-5d) was hugely crushed by De La Guardia’s 73o, which held to give him over a quarter of a million dollars.
