Ivey vs Ziigmund Sees Finn Lose Over $1m

Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies did not have the best day at Full Tilt Poker on Friday morning. Firstly he challenged durrrr to some heads-up $500/$1k PLO action during which he dropped $500,000 but clawed back around half of that.

After that he decided it would be a good idea to take on Phil Ivey in some of the same action. Ivey seemed to do no wrong, hitting the right cards and making the right decisions to quickly rack up a solid profit.

One near quarter-million dollar pot saw the pot 4-bet by Ziigmund before the flop. Ivey called to create a $54,000 pot before the flop of 7s-3h-Js was even dealt. Ivey then check-raised Ziigmund’s pot-sized bet all in, and the Finn was forced to call by pot odds.

Ilari showed QJT6 double suited for top pair and some backdoor draws while Ivey had KK75. The turn was a 3 which meant that the rivered Q did nothing for Ziigmund, and Ivey won a $241,000 pot.

After this Ziigmund was steaming and demanded some coinflips. Ivey happily obliged and the two had possibly the largest flip ever, a $400,000 pot that saw Ivey’s 8653 best Ziigmund’s T995 by making the nut straight.

Crazy flips, six-figure pots and the world’s best playing each other – follow it all at Full Tilt Poker.
