Isildur1 loses $1,000,000 to Brian Townsend

Thursday, 26 November 2009

Isildur1 managed to recoup some of the massive losses he’s endured at the hands of Patrik Antonius and Phil Ivey, winning back almost $700,000 from the Finn. However, Brian Townsend played over 1,000 hands of heads-up $200/$400 PLO with the Swede and won $1.1m in short order, dominating the match from start to finish.

Townsend was down around $20,000 in the first hundred hands or so but after that went on a huge rush to earn the total $1,107,300 he made, never dipping into the red after the initial loss.

Isildur1 – now widely believed to be Swedish high stakes player Viktor Blom – called Townsend’s 5-bet in position with 9765 and got the other $120,000 in on a T98 rainbow flop. Unfortunately for him, Townsend held AAJ7 and left the Swede drawing to slim running outs which he did not hit to send the $304,000 pot to Townsend.
