Isildur1 continues to crush high stakes games

Monday, 16 November 2009

The elusive Isildur1 has once again left forums reeling, with his $6m profits in the past 24 days convincing some that he cheats, some that he’s a bot and some that he’s simply on the heater to end all heaters.

Despite taking a $1m loss during his first foray into the high stakes games, Swedish balla Isildur1 has now netted a net profit of over $5,000,000 in 2009 – a turnaround that took just 24 days, winning money as fast as Guy LaLiberte lost it.

The past weekend saw him take to the PLO games for once, winning a cool $1.8m from the likes of Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and Brian Hastings. Patrik Antonius dropped $1.5m, most of which went to the mysterious Swede.

His identity is still a major talking point in the poker community. Theories that he’s an advanced bot or a superuser aside, Barry Greenstein shed some light on the face behind the multi-million dollar mask:

“He’s not a publically known player at this time, but he has done very well in big head-up games on European sites. He just started playing on American sites…I have a feeling you will start hearing about in live games and tournaments once he gets a little older, since he likes to play poker all the time,” Greenstein wrote in the November 12th post on the Pokerroad forums.
