After a torrid 2009 that saw Gus Hansen drop millions into the nosebleed poker economy, the Great Dane made a New Decade’s resolution to start winning this year. So far, so good.
After 17,773 hands the Full Tilt Pro is the biggest winner of the decade so far, with a cool $1,345,968 profit since January 1. Tom Dwan, who needs to get some money in after his trashing by Isildur1 late last year, suffered most at the hands of Gus, losing over half a million at $500/$1,000 PLO. Overall this year though, he’s down “only” $131k which is essentially breakeven for the stakes he plays. If Hansen’s rampage continues we could see him do an Antonius this year. Of course it’s early days, but when Hansen doesn’t tilt, stays sober at the tables and really knuckles down to focus on his game he’s damn near unstoppable. Perhaps durrrr will have something to say about that though – find out by railing the million-dollar pots at Full Tilt Poker.
