Galfond Wins $150k from Benyamine at PLO

What with most of the Full Tilt pros being preoccupied at the World Series of Poker Europe in London at the moment, the action at the high stakes games on Full Tilt Poker has been a little dry.

That didn’t stop Phil “OMGClayAiken” and David “MRB2USON” Benyamine clashing at the $300/$600 tables. The two played heads-up for around 45 minutes before Galfond netted a $146,663 win.

The biggest pot of the session was quite small relative to the size of the blinds, but was still a $120,000 beast that Galfond shipped after Benyamine slowplayed the flop. In actuality it was just a cooler but it does, from an outside perspective, seem to show the dangers of checking in PLO:

Benyamine 3-bet to $6,200 from the big blind and OMGClayAiken called. Both players checked the $12,600 pot on a Ac-Ks-3s board before the 2c turn saw Benyamine bet $7,800; Galfond raise to $35k and the former Full Tilt pro shove.

Galfond called, and Benyamine showed As-Js-Kd-Tc for top two pair, a gutshot and a flush draw. However, Galfond’s T542 double-suited had made the wheel, which held up on the Jc river to ship him the pot.

You can follow all the action at Full Tilt Poker.
